Words on the Street ------- NOLLYWOOD MOVIES.

I'm sure by now most people know how I feel about Nollywood movies. I'm not saying they're totally bad i'm of the opinion that they can do better.
So I went into the streets of port-harcourt to talk to people about Nollywood movies read their opinions bellow.

PS--- i'm writing word for word.

Question --- Good day please do you watch Nollywood movies, if you do what's you take on Nollywood movies?

Chinyere David .
Yes I watch Nigerian movies I watch some and not all. It's a form of entertainment it makes you laugh and it makes you think that what they are acting is stupid. They feel the audience don't have sense. They give you IQ drop.

Mercy Joseph.
I watch Nollywood movies they are trying now, at least the produce good movies unlike before but they should try and change movie titles, example Ibu and Beyonce, Brazilian hair war, pregnant men and lots more.

Stella Tobiah.
Way back Nollywood films were very motivating especially the village films, I used to learn a lot from them, but now I don't find Nigerian films interesting again, everything is about ghetto, ghetto this and ghetto that. Sometimes I just glance through and find out that everything is the same. I can't allow my kids watch Nollywood movies because there is nothing to learn.
Abiye.
I stopped watching Nigerian films a long time ago because it lacks moral values, there's nothing to learn at all and the sex scenes are too much. The annoying thing is the time frame of their movies it's too long. You see a movie that has part one to part twenty all because of money at some point they miss out on the real story.

Benson Olime.
Nigerian movies are okay, I personally don't see any improvement in Nigerian movies they keep repeating the same story line.

Sunny Igwebuike.
Nigerian films dey ok but e get some part of wetin dem dey act wey no suppose dey there e no make sense. You see those part wey dem dey make love no good e no suppose dey there because children dey watch am, wetin dem wan learn there? But e get the ones wey good kwa dem dey teach better things too.

Stella Nwadike.
I love Nigerian films lot I watch them when i'm not busy, what I don't like is the constant sex scene.

CY Akugbo.
Nigerian films are fine I don't think they should change anything because they are trying very well.

Barbara Omodu.
I don't enjoy watching Nigerian films the storyline should be changed you know the end of a movie from the beginning.

Dandy Igwe.
They are doing pretty well and I pray that they do better and grow higher but they should leave the parts they can not do, like all those fake punches if they want to act kunfu parts they should act it properly and stop being fake about it.

Queeneth Chinwe.
Nollywood movies are not bad they are improving but they should tone down on their costumes it's so fake and most costumes don't suit the parts. They should also Edit properly so a particular scene will look real. Like all those helicopter scenes and bombing scenes are very fake.

Well all I can say is I had a good laugh.

  1. I don't go out of my way to watch. Generally they lack depth and no suspense. except a few ofcourse. I agree most have silly titles.

  2. IMO, The Have Improved A Great Deal, Though There Is Still Room For Improvement. Most Of Their Films Are HD, Picture Quality, Na Bam. In Fact, Nollywood Is Now 2nd After Bollywood According To Recent News. David Cameron Of Britain, Now Invite Nollywood Film Producers To Come Shoot In The Uk.
What I hate So Much About Nollywood Films Is Noise. The Shout On Top Of Their Voices While Talking, And The Background Noise. Most Times I Struggle To Hear Their Voices.

  3. Nollywood depresses me.There's nothing, absolutely nothing to learn except in rare cases. And yes, their titles are very annoying, like some joke.I watch nollywood movies just to amuse myself or when I have nothing to do.In the scale of 10,they have 4.

  6. I'm not a big fan of Nigeria movies, reasons too numerous to mention. But recently, my husband made me watch 30 days in Atlanta, just a bit above average but I must commend the picture quality of the movie.

Lol, well I don't beef them but I seldom watch their movies, most times its pisses me off seeing them act like the audience are bunch of stupid people. I think they are trying but they need change some scenes like the way girls dress to school in their movies with bum shorts n very short dresses, its not true, also all pregnant women don't run out to throw up as a sign of pregnancy neither do all security men come from the north. Also a big n beautiful house outside shouldn't look small n scruffy in the inside(ie. They show u a big house, yet use poor furnished hotel rooms as the rooms). It wouldn't kill to be real you know, and wen u try hard to be funny,u won't be cause I'll end up looking stupid. Being urself n real is d key(ie. IBU,jenifa ... Et all), I look forwd to d day I'll watch a movie that will thrill me and a comedy DAT will make my eyes water with laughter. I love nollywood though....(monkey no fine but in mama like am).... More grease
